Carpenter Ants

Peterborough Carpenter AntsCarpenter ants are black ¾ of an inch long and are considered a wood-destroying insect. Signs of infestation are sound of crunching noises in walls or sawdust like material below window frames or on floors or near water sources.

If you notice these signs in your home it is definitely cause for concern.

Carpenter ant nests have been known to completely destroy structural beams, floors and window frames. This may cause a dwelling to be weakened. There is also a possibility of satellite colonies around your home, which means there can be more than 1 colony.

The only way to locate and destroy the colony is to contact a qualified pest control technician who is trained specifically for carpenter ants. If you are unsure that what you see is a carpenter ant problem please call Canadian Shield Pest Control and we will send a technician to your home for an inspection. We offer carpenter ant extermination options for Peterborough, Oshawa and the entire Kawartha Lakes and Durham regions.
